A breeding ground for audiovisual and photographic talent in Mexico
The Mobile Workshop brings the artistic language of filmmaking and photography, and also learning how to use audiovisual technologies, to the youth in mining communities. This program fosters recording and representing significant social, historical and cultural expressions from their place of origin. The invitation to participate in our Mobile Workshops is open to the public, free of charge, with offering like Documentary Filmmaking, Filmmaking for Children, and Photography.
“I learned that to take a good photograph, you need to align your mind, heart and spirit.”
Photography student, Hermosillo, Sonora
“I went to the workshop because I was interested in showing and expressing my sensitivity through a different artform … in short, the experience has brought me back to life, a second chance to be and to grow with art”
Documentary Film student, Nacozari, Sonora
“I went to the workshop by chance as I have always been interested in photography and film. I never thought I would meet such wonderful people as our workshop facilitators. I enjoyed what I learned in the workshop”
Documentary Film student, Charcas, San Luis Potosi
This workshop has led to 18 festival selections and is part of the Voces project for youth, promoting citizen participation and social awareness through documentary films.
This successful program develops photographic skills and the exercise of a photographer’s eye, involving the participation of the community in visual creation.
This workshop brings the language of film to children 9-13 years old in a fun way. The short films the children produce are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), including Climate action (SDG 13), Promoting just, peaceful and inclusive societies (SDG 16) and Reducing inequalities (SDG 10). We screen the children’s short films at local Cinemex movie theaters in the communities.
Participants in the Documentary Filmmaking and Photography Mobile Workshop programs are 14-60 years of age, while our younger students in the Filmmaking for Children Mobile Workshop program are 9-13 years old.
